ANDERSON COUNTY, SC—Anderson County Council are pleased to congratulate the Anderson County Humane Society for receiving a $27,020 grant from PetSmart Charities® to fund more than 500 free dog and cat sterilizations in the Iva Community.
“The Anderson County Council wishes to congratulate the Anderson County Humane Society for being selected as the recipient of a PetSmart Charities® Grant,” said County Council Chairman Tom Allen. “The competition for these grant funds is tough and we couldn’t be happier that these funds will go to help with the pet overpopulation issues in our community. We are grateful to PetSmart Charities® for these funds. I also want to praise Steve Newton, one of the many fine Anderson County employees, who worked with the Humane Society to successfully apply for this grant.””
“Council has worked tirelessly to find ways to mitigate the County’s abandoned pet problems,” said Councilman Eddie Moore. “These grant funds bring us a step closer toward achieving that goal. I want to thank Ms. Wanda Crane and her staff at the Anderson County Humane Society for their efforts that will benefit District 3. Teaming up with the Humane Society is another great example of public-private partnerships that get the job done.”
