The Piedmont Emergency Relief Center (P.E.R.C.) is seeking food donations for its pantry to meet the greater demand at the end of the month.

P.E.R.C. is running low on food and is at an urgent level. Demand for food increases at the end of each month, so the organization is faced with a greater shortage in the next few days.

"Our food demand typically increases at the end of the month because many clients who receive food stamps, run out by the month's end, " said Michele Baier, Program Director of P.E.R.C. P.E.R.C. has seen a dramatic increase in

demand over the past year.

"We have already fed twice as many families as we fed last

year," said Michele.

Nonperishable food items can be brought to The Piedmont Emergency Relief Center

at 3 Main Street, Piedmont on Monday from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Tuesdays and

Thursdays from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. For more

information (or if your organization would like to host a food drive), please call (864) 845-5535 or go to www.piedmonterc.org.
