ANDERSON COUNTY – May 2-6 was an action-packed week in Anderson County. The Great Anderson County Fair was the anchor and motivation for much of the activity. Additional weekend events included the Boy Scout’s Exporee and the USA CRITS Speed Week – Electric City Circuit. Organizers have declared the event a success. “We were very happy with the venue, the support and the turnout,” said organizer Ray Bianco of Bianco’s Foods, LLC. “The votes came in overwhelmingly in favor of the Fair’s return - 56,121 people came through our gates! We strived to give Anderson County a top quality, family-friendly experience at affordable pricing and judging by the attendance, we succeeded. I want to personally thank Anderson County, the Civic Center staff, Anderson City Police, Anderson County EMS, Anderson County Public Safety…for their dedicated support. The way everyone came together to work toward a common goal made me proud to call Anderson my home.”
“The Civic Center of Anderson is the perfect venue for so many events,” said organizer Roger Dixon. “On June 15th at 7:30 pm, Corey Smith will be performing in the Amphitheater and we are confident that this will be another slam dunk for the County. The fair was a homerun and we look forward to the many possibilities and opportunities to make the Civic Center a household name both in Anderson and across the Upstate.”
“We are thrilled with the success of the Great Anderson County Fair,” said County Council Chairman Tom Allen. “County residents welcomed the Fair back with open arms. The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony took place last Wednesday at 3:45 pm amidst a crowd, anxious for the gates to open. The organizers were successful in providing an event that was family-friendly and entertaining. In spite of the fact that fair organizers had very little time to plan, it is easy to proclaim the venture a victory for the Civic Center, the organizers and the residents.”
Corey Smith will be performing in the Amphitheater on June 15th at 7:30 pm. Tickets are available at www.CoreySmith.com or through the Civic Center box office for $12. For more information, please call 864. 260.4800.
